Breast Characteristics
Women's breast shapes vary due to the characteristics of the breast tissue, characteristics of the breast skin, whether or not the woman has given birth to a child, as well as due to causes associated with genetic-hormonal factors. Differences can be observed in the breast shape and structure at various times throughout a woman's life. For instance, pregnancy has a major role in the change of breast's look.
Women breasts undergo various changes from the first menstrual period to the period of menopause. There is more adipose tissue in breasts following the menopause.
Enlargement of breasts can be observed not only in women but also in men. Abnormal enlargement of breasts in a male is called Gynaecomastia. The surgeries carried out are called Gynaecomastia surgery or Male Breast Reduction surgery.
