It was used in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor for the first time and was accepted as part of traditional medicine in 1987 by French Medicine Academy. Mesotherapy means mesodermic treatment. The aim of the therapy is to regulate blood and lymph circulation, help the renewal of cells, ensure local slimming with lypolitic medications, and eliminate cellulites and pain through painkillers. What is the procedure for mesotherapy?
First, the skin is sterilized and a pomade or spray is applied to the skin so that it is relieved of pain. A suitable mixture (cocktail) is prepared by using a number of medications and then it is applied to the skin manually or with a special sprayer by using very thin special needles. Just as it can be applied skin-deep, it can also be injected to the depth of the skin in the form of small bubbles. Those bubbles shall vanish a few hours later. The sessions are held every 2, 4, or 8 weeks.
What kind of effect do mesotherapy medications make?
The amount of medication in mesotherapy is much less than those swallowed or injected. They are comprised of substances which satisfy the needs of tissues such as vitamin, mineral, or amino acid and reinforce the tissues. Some medications stimulate substances that ensure flexibility and firmness of the tissue. Some ensure the absorption of medications by increasing blood build up in the tissue or else removal of waste substances. Some disintegrate fat molecules. Due to such effects, the skin become rejuvenated, more colourful, and shining while hair looks healthier, local fat is lost, and signs of ageing diminish.
When do the effects of mesotherapy become visible?
Although the effect becomes visible at the same instant in some treatments, a period of 4-5 sessions or 2 months is necessary for many treatments.
Who are not eligible for mesotherapy?
It is not advisable to apply mesotherapy to pregnant or breastfeeding women, those taking aspirin pills (at least 3 days must pass since last usage), those taking insulin, those with weak bodily resistance, those suffering from cardiovascular diseases, cardiac rhythmic disorders, or cardiac dysfunction.
