CHEMICAL PEELİNG
It is used for revealing the healthier and livelier skin at the bottom by ensuring that the damaged skin on the surface is peeled. As a result, a livelier, fresher, tighter, and healthier skin comes out. Chemical peeling refers to the application of various acidic and basic chemical agents into the skin for peeling.
Application
Skin-deep chemical peeling could be applied with glycolic acids from sugar beets or else with lactic acids in milk. They are more commonly known as alfa hydroxide acids (AHA). As they consist of relatively small molecules, they can penetrate into the epidermis (the upper layer of the skin). However, they cannot penetrate into dermis, which is deeper down. It increases the tolerance of cells in epidermis to external factors by triggering cell rejuvenation. It has proved effective against the surface blots at the epiderm.
Another skin-deep peeling is carried out with salicyclic acids (BHA). That agent affects the epidermis (the upper layer of the skin) more superficially. It is preferred mostly for the treatment of acnes, blackheads, and sometimes for blots.
Our clinic applies both skin-deep chemical peeling methods (AHA and BHA).
The Advantages of Peeling
• It soothes and reduces slight creases due to sunlight or ageing.
• It ensures a fresher, tighter, and younger outlook by increasing the softness and liveliness of the skin.
• It mitigates acne scars.
• It eliminates skin-deep blots.
Peeling lasts for 5-10 minutes. It is applied every 2-4 weeks. It needs to be applied for 6-8 sessions so that a visible result can be ensured.
When is dermabrasion applied?
Dermabrasion is applied for skins which require a deeper peeling such as acne sequels and deep wrinkles.
Which kind of method is used for dermabrasion?
General anaesthesia is necessary for that operation. The skin is peeled more deeply when compared to chemical peeling. The skin recovers in 7-10 days.
Which kind of precautions should be taken after peeling?
It is important to avoid sunlight after peeling. Protecting the skin with high factor sun creams and lotions shall prevent colour differences during recovery.
